Alan Kefford

Alan heads the firm’s Licensing Division advising on all areas of liquor and entertainment licensing law. He is acclaimed as the leading licensing lawyer in the East of England in Legal Directories Legal 500 and Chambers.

Alan has written the premises licensing module on the Licensing Act 2003 for Informa Professional Development, which was part of a national self-study course, and was a speaker at the IBC high profile licensing summer school at Cambridge in 2004 and 2005.

Brian Hardie

Brian has piloted courses for the BII in the development of the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders, as well as question writing for the Drugs Awareness Course. He has presented a number of seminars and talks within the East Anglia region on the Licensing Act 2003.

He has assisted in the licensing department in the processing of over 400 applications, which is on-going, and represented clients at a number of local authority hearings, all of which were successful.

Val is a member of the licensing team at Howes Percival. She works closely with Alan Kefford and Brian Hardie on all aspects of licensing and personally undertakes work specifically in the area of personal licences and variation of Designated Premises Supervisor. She also assists Brian Hardie in his training role and has herself attained the BIIAB NCPLH qualification.
